...the pressure to get a job.

I only got back from one month of travelling Japan 2 days ago, and already my mother is telling me to go out and find a job NOW. Honestly, I want to spend January relaxing, not cancelling plans because I have a shift at a restaurant or shop somewhere, that I don't even care about and pays me minimum wages. Uni starts in March, and I figure there's plenty of time in February to earn some money.

Not that I'm going to be shopping, since I bought a LOT of things in the land of bento and no soap in public bathrooms. (well, no soap most of the time anyway. Whenever I went somewhere expensive high-end, there was an abundance of soaps, toilets that make flushing noises, and automatic everything, really.) Let's just say I bought a new suitcase before I left.

You know what else I really don't like?

Coming home from Akihabara, and having your train suddenly fill with girls all talking non-stop about how amazing the Arashi concert they just went to was.

Yeah. That sucked.

Especially because I was in Tokyo on the 4th of December, and for all intents and purposes, could have also been one of the tittering girls post-Arashi Tokyo Dome concert. But no. Thanks to Johnny and his goddam ridiculous ticketing system, I couldn't go.

(I suppose I could blame the Arashi boys for being too damn popular this year, and making the process of getting a ticket to their concerts near impossible, but let's face it, I worship the ground these guys walk on. No way I'm going to complain about their popularity.)

The temptation to grab the girl in front of me's stuffed-to-the-brim souvineer bag, with the Sho uchiwa peeking over the top, and run for it was definetely there. Of course I didn't, because I'm a law-abiding, honest, honourable girl who was carrying a lot of shopping and probably couldn't outrun the wrath of an angry Japanese Arashi fangirl.)

So, how has everyone else been spending their Christmas/New Year/Summer/Winter holidays? Visiting family, catching up on sleep and TV shows, eating too much? Well, here's to a (belated) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Hope 2010 will treat you well :)
